I am so grateful for the opportunity to provide Massage Therapy within the welcoming and peaceful Lotus Wings environment! While my work experience has been mainly in-clinic treatment for injuries and painful conditions, I also believe in the benefits of Massage Therapy for relaxation. The body and mind respond to caring touch and healing intention.

Massage Therapy is universal and can help people regardless of age, gender or ability. Here are just some of the reasons that people receive Massage Therapy:

occasional relief from tight muscles and day to day stress
regular treatments as a part of a healthy lifestyle
recovery from injury or surgery when avoiding an overly clinical experience is preferred
living with the symptoms of a chronic condition
a gift from self or someone else
to improve body-mind c0nnection

Here’s what you can expect. You will receive friendly, professional care. The first visit is 1 hour to allow time for assessment and treatment. We will discuss why you’ve come and any questions or concerns that you may have. I encourage open communication so that I can provide the Massage Therapy that best fits your needs and expectations. After the first visit, you may book 45, 60 or 90-minute treatments. Gift certificates are available. Please contact me directly for more information or to book your appointment.

Massage Therapy is covered in whole or in part by many benefits plans. Contact your coverage provider to find out how much Massage Therapy you may be missing .

Denise is a Usui Reiki Master/Teacher with a practice in Ottawa and Perth.

Denise began her training in 1996,discovering Reiki through resolution to an interpersonal conflict. The principles of “Energy of Engagement” and “Everyone is your Teacher” impacted her life so dramatically, that her Reiki quest began. It soon became apparent that the Reiki training and daily self sessions were having an effect on her health as well. Slowly, years of chronic health difficulties began to dissipate. Friends insisted that she had found her “niche”. Denise then tentatively began to treat others, loved the work, then committed to her practice professionally. She studied to become a Reiki Master/Teacher and reached her dream in 1999. Today, her practice is full time. She has clinic space in Ottawa and Perth. There are classes offered for all levels of Usui Reiki. In 2011, she completed her next dream…”Reiki Wings, Usui Reiki Teacher’s Handbook”. This is a complete teaching program for both the novice and experienced teacher. The book is now sold on amazon and in 5 book stores across the region where Denise will give talks on the book’s contents and Reiki in general. In 2012, Denise designed a 3 hour workshop to provide interested Reiki teachers with a hands on introduction to using the techniques and methodologies presented in the Reiki Wings book. And, in 2014, she added an annual Reiki Conference to the services offered through Reiki Associates.

In addition to Reiki Associates, Denise owns the “Lotus Wings Building” in Perth. This is a Centre featuring the practice of eight dedicated entrepreneurs (including Denise) who come together to empower each other professionally while delivering their “Best Practice” to their clients.

To bring balance to her life, Denise enjoys reading, walking, live theatre, movies and her incredible family.

* Goat’s milk is less allergenic *
Milk allergies are reactions to a protein allergen known as Alpha s1 Casein, which is found in high levels in cow’s milk. The levels of Alpha s1 Casein in goat’s milk are about 85% less than cow’s milk, making it a far less allergenic food. Cow’s milk contains more than 20 different allergens that can cause allergic reactions, including inflammation (affecting everything from IBS and leaky gut, to acne and autoimmune diseases). Protein-wise, goat’s milk is the closest milk to human breast milk. Studies suggest that goat milk, when used as the first protein after breastfeeding, is less allergenic for babies than cow milk.

* Goat’s milk is naturally homogenized *
Goat’s milk has smaller fat globules and does not contain agglutinin, a compound found in cow’s milk that causes the milk to separate into two layers-cream and the skim milk. With smaller fat globules and no agglutinin, the goat’s milk stays naturally homogenized (mixed), making it easier to digest. Goat milk is lower in lactose, or milk sugars, than cow’s milk.

* Goat’s milk is easier to digest *
When goat’s milk proteins denature (clump together) in the stomach, they form a much softer bolus (curd) than the bolus formed by cow’s milk. This allows the body to digest the protein more easily and completely. In addition, goat’s milk contains higher levels of medium-chain fatty acids than cow’s milk, which also make it far easier to digest. These fatty acids provide an energy boost that isn’t stored as body fat, help lower cholesterol and can even help treat conditions like coronary diseases and intestinal disorders.

* Goat’s milk is an alkaline food *
The higher potassium content of goat’s milk creates an alkaline effect within the body, instead of acidifying reaction created by cow’s milk. Maintaining an alkaline pH environment has significant health benefits by improving the body’s cellular ability to absorb nutrients and efficiently remove waste.

* Goat’s milk contains extra vitamins and fatty acids *
Compared to cow’s milk, goat’s milk contains higher amounts of vitamin A, vitamin B6, niacin, potassium and the essential fatty acids, linoleic acid and arachidonic acid. With high levels of vitamin A, it can improve your complexion, fight acne and improve overall skin health. Goat’s milk also contains more calcium than cow’s milk, and provides comparable amount of all the other vitamins and minerals except for folic acid and vitamin B12. These two vitamins can be easily added to goat’s milk if needed.
